2007 Traffic Impacts

I-435 & Antioch Interchange Project

2007 will be the second full year of construction on the I-435 and Antioch Interchange project. The City of Overland Park and Kansas Department of Transportation are providing a tentative schedule of traffic impacts for 2007. All of this information is subject to change based on weather and the contractor's schedule of work. As specific dates for construction operations affecting traffic are determined, the information is contained in KDOT press releases and City of Overland Park press releases as appropriate.

I-435

  1. I-435 will be reduced to two lanes for about two weeks during the summer for improvements to the bridges over Indian Creek.
  2. The ramp from southbound US-69 to westbound I-435 will be closed from mid-summer until late fall.
  3. The loop ramp from westbound I-435 to southbound US-69 will be closed from mid-summer until late fall.
  4. A temporary ramp will be constructed between northbound US-69 and eastbound I-435.
  5. Noise walls on the north side of I-435 between Indian Creek and Antioch will be completed by late fall. Noise walls between US-69 and Indian Creek will be completed this spring.
  6. I-435 between US-69 and Indian Creek will be widened from three to four lanes.

US-69/103rd Street Interchange

  1. The loop ramp from 103rd Street to southbound US-69 will be closed from early spring to late fall.
  2. The loop ramp from northbound US-69 to 103rd Street will also be closed from early spring to late fall.
  3. There will be no left turn from eastbound 103rd Street to northbound US-69.

US-69

  1. Between 95th and 103rd Streets retaining and noise walls will be under construction on both sides of the highway.
  2. There will be lane reductions during non-peak hours and some overnight weekend closures.

103rd Street

  1. 103rd Street between Goddard and Mastin will be reduced to one lane in each direction throughout most of the year.
