Phase I - September 2005 to December
2006
Scheduled Work
- Widen I-435 from Indian Creek Pkwy. to Metcalf Ave.
- Grading and construction of retaining and noise walls along I-435 from US-69 to Antioch Rd.
- Widen the inside shoulder of southbound US-69.
- Construct the east half of the Antioch Interchange.
- Reconstruct the west half of the Metcalf Interchange.
- Widen and reconstruct Antioch Rd. from Indian Creek Pkwy. to 110th St.
- Reconstruct and add turn lanes to Indian Creek Pkwy. and 108th St. at Antioch Rd.
Anticipated Impact on Traffic
- Predominantly three lanes each direction on I-435 with short-term, localized reductions.
- Two nightly closures of I-435 during the demolition of the existing Antioch Rd. bridges.
- Southbound US-69 will be reduced to one lane at night while the shoulder is widened.
- Antioch Rd. traffic will be reduced to one lane each direction.
Phase II - January 2007 to December 2007
Scheduled Work
- Widen I-435 from US-69 to Indian Creek Pkwy.
- Construct connector ramps along I-435 from US-69 to Antioch Rd.
- Reconstruct the 103rd St. Interchange.
- Reconstruct 103rd St. from Goddard St. to Mastin St.
- Construct the noise wall along the east side of US-69 from 103rd St. to 95th St.
- Begin construction of the southbound US-69 to eastbound I-435 flyover ramp.
Anticipated Impact on Traffic
- Only short-term, localized lane reductions anticipated on I-435 and US-69.
- Through access on Goddard St. will be closed during reconstruction.
- 103rd St. will be reduced to one lane each direction.
Phase III - January 2008 to May 2009
Scheduled Work
- Complete construction of the southbound US-69 to eastbound I-435 flyover ramp.
- Complete remaining ramp construction in the I-435 and US-69 interchange.
- Complete paving operations on the eastbound Antioch Rd. exit ramp.
- Paint the I-435 bridges over Metcalf Ave.
- Construct the new left-turn lane on the westbound Metcalf Ave. exit ramp.
Anticipated Impact on Traffic
- Only short-term, localized lane reductions anticipated on I-435 and US-69.
